Clearing cookies

After clearing your cookies, it's best to close all browser windows.

  • Internet Explorer 8:
    Click to exit Internet Explorer 8 and any instances of Windows Explorer.
    In Windows Vista:
    Type inetcpl.cpl in the Start Search box.
    Click ENTER.
    In Windows XP:
    Click Start.
    Click Run.
    Type inetcpl.cpl in the Open box.
    Click ENTER.
    Click delete under Browsing History in the Internet Properties dialog box (on the General tab).
    Click to clear all of the check boxes except for the Cookies check box (in the Delete Browsing History dialog box).
    Click Delete.
  • Internet Explorer 7:
    Click the Tools menu. If you don't see the menu, press Alt button on your keyboard to show the menus.
    Click the Delete cookies button.
    Click the Yes button in the confirmation window.
    Click the Close button.
  • Internet Explorer 6:
    Click the Tools menu.
    Select Internet Options.
    Click the General tab.
    Click the Delete Cookies button.
    Click the OK button in the confirmation window.
    Click the OK button to close the 'Internet Options' window.
  • Firefox:
    In the Firefox menu, go to ‘Tools’ then ‘Options’.
    Look for the cookies that you want to delete and click on ‘Remove cookie’.
    You can also delete all cookies by clicking on "Remove all cookies"
  • Safari:
    In the Safari menu, choose ‘Preferences’.
    In the window that opens, go to the ‘Security’ tab.
    Click on ‘Show Cookies’.
    In the window that opens, find and select the cookies that you want to delete and click ‘Remove’.
  • Chrome:
    In the Chrome menu, choose ‘Settings’.
    Open ‘Advanced settings’.
    Go to the ‘Privacy’ section.
    Click on ‘Content settings’.
    Under ‘Cookies’ (first section), click on ‘All cookies and site data’.
    Find the cookies that you want to delete and click ‘OK’. You can also choose to delete all of your cookies.
    Click Close when you're done.
